McPherson Opera House Executive Director Karissa Hoffman to Resign, Effective Aug. 9

Executive Director Karissa Hoffman has given her resignation to Board President Denise O’Connor-Munsey, effective Aug. 9, 2024.

“While the Opera House is sad to see Karissa leave, she is heading on to a new opportunity in Lindsborg, and we know she will continue to have a positive impact on our communities,” the staff shared.

During her time there, Hoffman has led the reinvigoration of fundraising efforts at the Opera House, growing its endowment at the McPherson Community Foundation, to what is currently over $1 million.

“Last season was our first full season back after the COVID-19 pandemic and we are grateful for Karissa’s leadership during this rebuilding period,” the Opera House stated.

Producing Director Jordan Bandy and Officer Manger and Events Coordinator Jolie Green will be continuing on the Opera House staff and the Executive Director role will remain open at this time.

The Opera House is especially excited to present Grammy(R) winner Crystal Gale on September 19. If you haven’t yet seen the new rental space, the Encore Room, stop by. It is located south of the Box Office with windows onto Main Street.

There are opportunities available to support the Opera House as the show seasons, educational programming and rentals continue to expand. There are also recurring donation capabilities, where you can become a recurring monthly donor at: mcphersonoperahouse.org/schlenderfund.
